Fish one day or everyday anywhere in the Chesapeake bay or it’s tributaries. Signup sheet and app link coming soon! Two invasive Calcuttas and a Mystery Fish as well. Kids (15 and under) fish free!

Tournament Guidelines:

  • There is no limit to the number of anglers that can compete in this tournament. All anglers must be registered online with the tournament prior to 4am on July 16, 2024, unless the tournament chooses to extend the time. There are two ways of entry. Anglers that choose to weigh in fish on the scale will be required to fill out the attached form. Scales located @ 104 W. Pier Street, Oxford MD 21654. Scales will be open daily from Noon to 4 pm. Anglers that choose the Mobile App method are required to complete the registration process and submit payment through the I-angler tournament app. Tournament representatives have the right to refuse entry into the tournament to any angler.
  • Anglers may score up to 5 fish per category per day. Fish are scored based on length (inches) and the largest cummulative total length for all 14 days will take first place, second largest cummulative total length for all 14 days length will take second place, and so on.

Prizes:

  • White Perch - prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Calcuttas:
Calcutta categories measure total inches for White Perch, Catfish and Snakehead.

  • Calcutta 1: Catfish total inches- $10
  • Calcutta 2: Snakehead total accumulated inches- $10
  • Calcutta 3: Largest Single Mystery Fish - $10
    • Any species single fish measured for total inches

White Perch Shootout Fishing Tournament
RULES 2024

The intention of this tournament is to promote overall good fellowship, to promote awareness and raise funds for the Talbot Watermen's Association in Easton, MD.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. There is no limit to the number of anglers that can compete in this tournament. All anglers must be registered online with the tournament prior to 4am on July 16, 2024, unless the tournament chooses to extend the time. There are two ways of entry. Anglers that choose to weigh in fish on the scale will be required to fill out the attached form. Scales located @ 104 W. Pier Street, Oxford MD 21654. Scales will be open daily from Noon to 4 pm. Anglers that choose the Mobile App method are required to complete the registration process and submit payment through the I-angler tournament app. Tournament representatives have the right to refuse entry into the tournament to any angler.
  2. Each paid entry can fish 1 or all days, between 7/16/24 – 7/31/2024.
  3. Tournament entry fee is $50 per angler. If fewer than 10 anglers enter, the tournament reserves the right to cancel the tournament altogether, and all monies paid will be refunded in full.
  4. All entry fees and additional skill level entries must be received/paid no later than 4am on July 16, 2024, to be eligible for prizes and awards (unless the time is extended by the tournament).
  5. The tournament reserves the right to refuse entry to any Angler.
  6. Checkout and Check-In: No check out and check in is required because of the virtual nature of the tournament. On Saturday Aug 3rd at 3:30pm, the awards party will be held at Wilson Outdoor Co. in Oxford MD.
  7. Fishing Hours & Boundaries: Lines in at 5:00am 7/16/2024 and lines out at 3:00pm on 7/31/2024. Only fish caught between 5:00 am 7/16/2024 to 3:00pm 7/31/24 will be eligible for weigh-in. The boundaries for the tournament are any watershed and tributary of the Chesapeake Bay.
  8. Weather: The tournament does not provide a weather committee and it is an Angler’s choice tournament. There is no rain date for this tournament.
  9. All participants are responsible to determine that their craft is sea-worthy and are advised and encouraged to be familiar with the current local weather conditions and forecasts to determine if conditions permit the safety of the boat, crew, anglers, and guests to proceed to depart to sea and return in a safe and prudent manner.
  10. Cancellation Policy: There is no refund on paid entries.
  11. Federal and State Regulations: Participants are assumed to have all necessary permits, licenses and/or registrations required by law. However, it is not the responsibility of the tournament officials or directors to verify that all required permits, licenses and/or registrations are acquired by anglers participating in the tournament. Failure of a winning angler to have obtained any or all required permits, licenses and or registrations shall not be the basis for a protest to be filed under the General Tournament Rules, or for a fish to be disqualified.


    TOURNAMENT SPECIFICS

  12. Categories:
    • White Perch - prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
  13. Calcutta categories measure total inches for White Perch, Catfish and Snakehead.
    • Calcutta 1:Catfish total inches- $10
    • Calcutta 2: Snakehead total accumulated inches- $10
    • Calcutta 3: Largest Single Mystery Fish - $10
      • Any species single fish measured for total inches
  14. This is a NON kill tournament. Releasing the Fish back to the river is up to the discretion of the angler. The tournament officials will review all photos to verify validity and length of fish for determining place winners.
  15. Anglers may score up to 5 fish per category per day. Fish are scored based on length (inches) and the largest cummulative total length for all 14 days will take first place, second largest cummulative total length for all 14 days length will take second place, and so on.
  16. Length is rounded to the nearest quarter of an inch.
  17. Ties: Ties will be viewed by officials and if they can be broken by looking at how the fish were rounded, the officials will place the competitors accordingly. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by the best of three Rock/Paper/Scissors officiated by tournament officials.
  18. The tournament officials will review all photos to verify validity and length of fish for determining place winners.


    ELIGIBLE FISHING METHODS & AREA

  19. ELIGIBLE FISHING METHODS: All fish must be caught:
    • Alive on a conventional rod and reel in a sporting manner.
    • An intentional foul hooked fish may not be scored. If a fish misses your lure and gets hooked in the side then so be it, but if you are sight fishing and foul hook it then that fish cannot be scored. A foul hooked fish is defined as a fish that does not have at least one hook in its mouth, and it must be released.

By completing the official tournament registration form and submitting payment, the boat owner, captain and mate(s), anglers and guests, consent that the tournament may use without payment or restriction, any photographs or video footage in which he or she may appear, for any purpose whatsoever including but not limited to resale, advertising, commercial or promotional material.
