This trash tournament is a piece of the larger Clean Up Florida Waters initiative by Florida Realtors. Our goal is to collect as many buckets of trash as possible leading up to the large cleanup July 13, 2024 in Palatka and July 27, 2024 for Duval, St. Johns, Clay and Baker. We have an anticipated goal of 10,000 pounds of trash collected for this event to keep our title as leaders of the Cleanup efforts in Florida.
Event Information:
- This event is open to everyone. NEFAR members and non-members
- Tournament starts 8:00am June 5 and runs to 11:59pm on August 1
- Trash should be collected in 5-gallon buckets or bags of equivalent size or any receptacle capable of containing trash
- One 5-gallon bucket or equivalent garbage bag full of trash will count as 1 point
- If a single piece of trash is larger than a 5-gallon bucket, it will count as one bucket entry / 1 point (Examples might include tires, broken toilets, washed up chairs or furniture)
- Trash is not limited to the waterways. You can pick up trash for this event anywhere (waterways, roadway, boat ramps, your community, etc..)
