"Tampa Reel to Heal"
Fishing Tournament

Gilbane’s 3rd annual Reel to Heal fishing tournament is proudly supporting Tampa General Hospital. This event is an inshore fishing tournament that is centered around an inshore slam with three species; Redfish, Snook, and Trout. Other contests will be held during this tournament such as a 9 species total length, as well as individual Calcutta’s for Redfish, Snook, and Trout.

  • 7:30 AM – Registration
  • 8:00 AM - Breakfast, Networking, Announcements
  • 9:00 AM – Tournament officially begins
  • 2:30 PM – tournament ends and heading back to docks
  • 3:00 PM – After party and awards reception

  • 9 species total length will be awarded first, second, and third

Rules & Regulations

  • Tournament registration is from 7:30 to 8:15 am. Tournament start is at 9:00 am, and catches must be logged into iAngler by 2:15 pm. Boats are to be back at the dock no later than 2:30pm. *All ties go to the team that returns to the dock first and/or submitted the catch first on iAngler*
  • Tournament scoring will be done via the iAngler Tournament app this year. The back of this document is a secondary score log in the event of iAngler not functioning correctly.
  • To qualify for the tournament, the Team must enter three (3) different fish of qualifying species.
  • Qualifying species: Snook, Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Snapper, Cobia, Sheepshead, Mackerel, and Grouper
  • Prizes will be awarded to:
    • The inshore slam champions. Inshore slam will be determined by the combined length of your biggest Snook, Redfish, and Trout.
    • 9 species combined length. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded for this contest that involves having the longest total combined length of at least three (3) qualifying fish. If your team has won the inshore slam, you are not eligible to win the 9 species contest.
    • Tournament biggest fish. An individual award will be provided to the angler that catches the biggest fish of the day within the 9 qualifying species. Please take note of which team member made the catch.
    • Team small fry. The boat that logs the smallest fish will win the team small fry award. Eligible species must be within the 9 listed above.
    • Snook, Redfish, and Trout Calcutta. If your team entered the Calcutta, any of your anglers are eligible to win this contest. This is an individual award. The Calcutta is otherwise known as biggest snook, redfish, or trout.
    • Fish do not have to be of legal size to qualify for the tournament.
      Ties will be governed by the team that submits their winning catch first

  • Fish must be photographed on the Tournament Ruler provided at registration
  • Anglers may keep or release legal fish at the captain’s discretion. However, we promote catch and release, and recommend a healthy release for all fish.
  • Anglers must leave and return to The Residence Inn Tierra Verde by boat only.
  • Fishing area will be Tampa Bay and its tributaries.
  • Natural and artificial baits are permitted, and chumming is permitted.
  • This paper catch log may be completed alongside the iAngler App in the event of technical difficulty. Please log all catches within the iAngler app. Notify the tournament team if you are experiencing technical difficulty.

I, in consideration of being permitted to participate in a fishing tournament (Event) to raise money for charity offered by the Gilbane Building Company RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Gilbane Building Company, Gilbane, Inc., the Tampa General Hospital Foundation, Inc., Tampa General Hospital, and their respective current or former officers, servants, agents, or employees (individually and collectively, Released Parties), with regard to any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action, or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained or incurred by me, or to any property belonging to me, during or as a result of my participation in the Event or any activities in connection with the Event, whether caused by the negligence of any of the Released Parties or otherwise.

I agree to indemnify the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage or cost the Released Parties may incur due to my presence in, or at the Event, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

I assume full responsibility for, and risk of, bodily injury, death, or property damage due to the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise while in or at the Event or while competing, officiating in, working, or for any other purpose participating in the Event. I further release the Released Parties from any claim whatsoever on account of first aid treatment or service rendered to me during participation in the Event.

I expressly agree that this Release, Waiver, and Indemnification (Release) is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Florida and that if any portion of the agreement is held invalid, the balance will continue in full legal force and effect.


1. I have read the foregoing Release and understand its significance. I am signing the Release voluntarily as my own free act and deed.

2. I am at least 18 years of age and fully competent (or a parent or guardian signing for a minor).

3. I execute this Release for full, adequate, and complete consideration, fully intending this Release to be binding on myself, my spouse, my family, and my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives.
