5th Annual Slade Dozier Memorial Inshore Fishing Tournament Rules

Tournament Dates: October 10-17, 2020. Entry Fee: $75 per angler. No refunds or cancellations due to weather. Each registrant will be able to fish one day during the tournament time frame between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Fishing can take place anywhere in the Eastern Time zone. All anglers need a valid fishing license in their state in which they are fishing.

Species for this tournament are Redfish, Trout, Flounder, Largemouth bass and Catfish. Weigh-in will be a virtual weigh-in (i.e. this is a picture tournament based solely on length) using the iAngler Tournament system. Instructions for registering with iAngler will be detailed in a separate email.

You will want to download the iAngler Tournament app to log your catch. You will be responsible for providing your own fishing ruler. Each fish should be clearly shown on the ruler with the nose at 0 and showing the total length on the ruler. The time stamped on the submission will be used in the event of a tie. Fish lengths will be measured to the nearest ¼ of an inch. Weigh Master’s decision is final.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category, as well as a youth angler (15 years old and younger), and lady angler. There will also be a prize for the redfish with the most spots and for the aggregate total length of an inshore grand slam (redfish, flounder, trout).

The boundaries for this tournament will be any public waters in the Eastern time zone that are legal to fish for every contestant (ocean, bays, rivers, inlets, creeks, and lakes). Stocked ponds or impoundments are illegal to fish.

Fishing will be done with rods and reels only. All fish must be caught during the tournament dates. A net may be used to land fish into the boat or to catch bait.

All DNR and U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations apply to licensing and vessel operations.
