Angler Tournament 2024
November 16, 2024
With rising inflation and cost of living increases, it's common for people across the nation to talk about how teachers need to be paid more. Is it just all talk, or can something be done about it? We at MCA believe everything possible should be done to take care of our teachers. Together, let's 'navigate some uncharted territory' by using our fishing tournament to 'hook' them up! MCA teachers are surely 'keepers'! To this end, 100% of the tournament profits will be divided among 10 randomly selected, tournament-participating, MCA teachers. If we raise $50K, that means 10 MCA teachers will receive $5,000 each! And if we raise more, they'll get even more! These people are the heart and soul of what makes our classical school so special, and we want to do everything in our power to support them and show our deep appreciation for their efforts. Are you with us? Are you 'on board'? If so, please sponsor, underwrite, register, and spread the word far and wide. The more money we raise, the bigger the bonus will be for 10 of our best and brightest.

2024 Tournament Rules
Redfish, Snook, Trout, and Bass Catch and Release
Fish from your boat, a pier, a bridge, or land!
Any body of water in or off the shores of Collier, Lee, or Hendry Counties, Florida
Tournament participants will need to upload their pictures to the iAngler Tournament app for judging.
Tournament participants must follow all federal and state fishing and boating laws and regulations.
- All fishing must take place in the waters of, or off the shores of, Collier County, Lee County, or Hendry County, Florida.
- All registered anglers must attend the Captain’s meeting on November 15th, 2024.
- All anglers must register on the iAngler Tournament website and download the iAngler app prior to the competition. There is no additional charge for registering with iAngler or with the use of their app.
- The winners of the Redfish, Snook, and Trout competitions will be determined by the length of the fish, facing leftward, using the angler's own measuring device with the Mason Classical Academy Angler Tournament tag clearly visible. This view of the fish needs to photographed and the photograph submitted via the iAngler Tournament app to earn credit for the catch.
- Please measure, photograph and release the fish as quickly as possible to optimize the chances of fish survival upon release.
- The winners of the Bass competition will be determined by the weight of the fish, as measured by a standard, digital scale, in pounds to the tenth place. Each angler taking part in the Bass competition must provide a standard, digital scale for their own use. They must measure the fish on the scale and take a photograph of the fish on the scale with a clear display of the weight.
- The length of the fish also needs to be photographed and recorded using your ruler. The Mason Classical Academy Angler Tournament tag must be visible in both pictures. All pictures must be submitted to the iAngler Tournament app in order to be judged. Again, please weigh and photograph the fish as quickly as possible to optimize the chances of fish survival upon release.
- If there is a tie for any first place category, the cash prize will be split evenly between the winners. If there is a tie for the second or third place winners in any category, the prize will go to the angler who caught the fish and submitted their picture earliest in the day.
- To qualify for a win, the registered angler must be the person who caught the fish being submitted for judging.
- Lines in the water at 7:00am. Lines out at 2:00pm. No photographs will be accepted before 7:00am or after 2:00pm.
- Children under the age of 18 must have permission from their parent or legal guardian to participate in the tournament.
- The tournament leaders reserve the right to reschedule the tournament at their discretion based on inclement weather or other unforeseen events. Otherwise, the tournament will proceed, rain or shine.
- All participation in the tournament is at the angler’s own risk. Each tournament participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Mason Classical Academy, its employees, all tournament volunteers, and their agents from any and all liability, loss or damage they may suffer from participating in this tournament.
- Any violation of the tournament rules will result in zero points and possible ejection from the tournament without refund of tournament entrance fees or any other monetary compensation. Any punitive action will be based solely on the misconduct of the angler and will be at the discretion of the tournament leaders. Please remember: cheaters never prosper!
- If you see another angler breaching the tournament rules, please report their misconduct to the tournament leaders.
